Dairy free, sugar free hot, healthy hot chocolate!
I LOVE hot chocolate. I don’t mean the every now and then love either, I mean every night of the week love. And now, with this healthy hot chocolate recipe, I can enjoy them guilt free! This hot chocolate is dairy free and sugar free, using only natural ingredients and tastes delicious, especially if you like dark chocolate.
- • 1 cup of almond milk
- • 1 heaped tsp of raw cocoa
- • 1 tsp of coconut oil
- • 1 tsp of agave syrup (honey if not vegan)
- • ½ tsp of cinnamon
- • Heat the almond milk in a pan
- • Once hot, sieve in the cocoa and the cinnamon
- • Add the coconut oil and honey, stir vigorously until frothy
- • Pour into your favorite mug and serve
Using Almond Milk as opposed to whole milk, lowers the calorie content, plus provides you with a number of health benefits that you don’t get from milk, giving you a nutritious vegan Hot Chocolate. Raw Cacao is a super food on it’s own, full of anti-oxidants, I will post a blog dedicated to this new found love of mine shortly. As it is sugar free, naturally has a slightly bitter taste, the honey and cinnamon works perfectly to sweeten things up and the coconut oil gives you a nice frothy hot chocolate.
