My review of Lush’s Tea Tree Water Toner

After moving to the sunny, but incredibly humid, UAE, I found my skin had become quite oily. Even a ditching foundation didn’t seem to change anything and I felt that my face had a horrible sweaty feel to it even indoors.

Since I have been trying to ditch the chemicals and use as many natural body products as possible, I visited LUSH UAE in an attempt to find something that could help my skin. After filling my basket with a ridiculous but necessary (so I keep telling myself) number of bath bombs, I wandered over to the skin care section to have a look.

After explaining my dilemma to the sales assistant, I was advised to buy a Toner simply named Tea Tree Water which was specially designed to target oily skin.

‘Tea tree is a wonder oil for anyone with oily or spot prone skin. It has antibacterial, antiseptic and antimicrobal properties.

Where the skin needs balancing, where there are spots, gentle tea tree is just the job.’ – lush.ae

A 250g bottle cost me 90 AED (roughly 15 GBP), quite pricey so I was hoping for the best. The cost of a 100g bottle was 45 AED ( 7.71 GBP).

The ingredients are simple and natural;
• Tea tree water
• Grapefruit water
• Juniperberry water
• Limonene

After rushing around the mall, by the time I got home, my skin was in dire need of some attention, the perfect time to try out my new product. I sprayed a cotton pad a number of times before cleansing my face with the toner. Considering I was wearing no makeup, I was surprised by the amount of muck that had come off my face. It’s safe to say that this toner does a good job of giving my face an extra clean after a face wipe.

The toner felt nice on my skin too, with a refreshing tea tree smell, but nicer than a strong chemical scent.

More importantly, my skin looked great. I couldn’t believe the difference, my whole face looked fresh and I had a nice, healthy, natural glow. There was no sign of oiliness, my skin has a nice clear, matte look.

I continued to use this product up to 4 times a day. First thing, arriving home from work and before bed. I also keep it in my bag if I am out for the day, and use it on the go. Tea Tree Water is also suitable for the fridge, which gives your skin a nice cool down too.

To summarize;

Pros;
• It actually works! My skin looks great.
• Quick & easy to apply
• 100% natural ingredients, no harsh chemicals or toxins.
• Lush don’t test on animals (yay!)

Cons;
• It is quite pricey, however for me it is worth the cost
• As Tea Tree Toner is made of solely natural products, it will only last for around 3 weeks. For me, this works as I use it daily but others may not use as regularly.

I would definitely recommend the Tea Tree Water toner from Lush. My skin looks and feels amazing, and I am blemish free. Now confident with how my skin looks, I am foundation free 5 days a week and my skin can breathe.

Have you tried the Tea Tree Water? What did you think?
