Superfood Kale & Raw Cacao Smoothie with Berries

I have been feeling a bit under the weather this week, so this morning I decided to create a superfood smoothie which would give me an energy and vitamin boost!

This smoothie provides an amazing number of vitamins and anti-oxidants which will keep your immune system strong. Both raw cacao and kale are known for strengthening hair and nails, so you will not only feel fab, but look it too! This smoothie is also high in fibre, which will keep you fuller for longer so is a great meal replacement if you are trying to lose weight. You can find out more about raw cacao here;

Kale & Cacao Smoothie

  1. 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  2. 1 cup of almond milk (alternatively you can use 1/2cup almond milk, 1/2 cup water)
  3. 1/2 cup chopped kale
  4. 1 tablespoon of raw cacao
  5. 1 cup of berries of your choice (I used frozen strawberries)
Blend all of the above ingredients and serve. Both kale and cacao are naturally quite bitter in taste, which is why I have suggested adding berries. If this is still not sweet enough for you, why not add organic honey or agave syrup?
