My Black Forest Raw Cacao Smoothie

Good Morning and happy Sunday from the UAE, where it’s not even 8am and already 34c. Eeek.

Do you like black forest cake? I do. And if you do too, you will love this smoothie. Filled with superfoods, this smoothie provides you with a number of vitamins and meets your sweet tooth cravings.

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup of almond milk
  2. 1/4 cup of oats
  3. 1 cup of frozen mixed berries ( I used raspberries, blueberries and red currents)
  4. 1 tablespoon of raw cacao
  5. 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  6. 2 scoops of your favorite protein powder (optional)

You will see I have used frozen berries, this is for one reason and one reason only, they are cheaper. You will be pleased to know that frozen fruit provides the same number of nutrients as fresh, so you are still getting all the health benefits.  This smoothie is packed with vitamins, as the berries I have used provide are full of anti oxidants. Once again I have used oats to keep you full, making this the perfect weight loss smoothie. You can find the benefits of coconut oil and raw cacao earlier in my blog, once you read them, you will definitely want to make this! If you are a protein junkie, protein  powder works really well in this smoothie too, giving you a great pre or post work out smoothie.
