Delicious, healthy banana and oats breakfast smoothie Recipe
Here is another great breakfast smoothie recipe to kick start your day. Smoothies are great first thing in the morning, and they don’t have to be full of sugar and high in fat either. This smoothie includes one of my favorite ingredients, peanut butter, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
- 1 cup of almond milk (unsweetened)
- 1 large banana
- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- ½ cup of oats (steel cut ideally)
- ½ cup of water and ice (optional)
Peanut butter is a fantastic ingredient for smoothies, especially first thing in the morning as the high fibre and protein content will keep you full until lunch time, banishing your mid-morning cravings, aiding weight loss. Make sure to buy natural peanut butter with no added sugar, and watch out as artificial ingredients to enhance ( I don’t know why because the natural stuff tastes great!). The oats provide the same benefits, keeping your fuller for longer.
Bananas are also a great breakfast ingredient. The high potassium levels energizing and waking up your brain and they slowly release energy throughout the day.
This smoothie is filling, easy to drinks first thing in the morning and is packed with nutrition to get you started for the day ahead.
Why don’t you try this smoothie for breakfast? Let me know what you think!
